Matthew is a partner at Peterson, Baldor & Maranges, PLLC and is Board Certified in Construction Law by The Florida Bar. Like the firm’s other attorneys, Matthew focuses his practice on construction law. He has represented contractors, owners, and sureties in state and federal courts on matters including but not limited to lien litigation, defect claims, delay claims, contract interpretation claims, warranty claims, errors and omissions claims, insurance coverage disputes, claims brought under the Fair Labor Standards Act, and claims under the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act. Matthew also leads the firm’s condominium law practice, providing general counsel services to condominium associations in South Florida that include drafting and reviewing contracts, the enforcement of governing documents and rules and regulations, the recall of officers or directors, supervision of elections, and drafting of declarations of condominiums, by-laws, articles of incorporation, and rules and regulations.
Matthew attended Georgetown University in Washington D.C. where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Government. During his tenure at Georgetown, Matthew was a Big East Conference Academic All Star and the Captain of the Georgetown University baseball team. Matthew then earned his Juris Doctor degree from the Florida International University College of Law, graduating within the top 15% of his class. While attending law school, Matthew earned book awards in legal research and writing and securities law enforcement.
